JASON WILLIAMS

Jason Williams is the co-founder and CEO of FlyTru, bringing 29 years of aviation experience and a sharp entrepreneurial instinct to the helm. He earned his private pilot’s license in 1996 at Temple Airport (TPL), originally viewing flying as a hobby—but his passion, paired with strong business acumen and a reputation for exceptional customer service, launched him into leadership roles throughout his aviation career. His wide range of type ratings—spanning the Cessna 500, 650, and 750 series, Challenger 600 series, Dassault Falcon 2000, Eclipse 500, G-200, G-IV, Learjet 45, Learjet, and Hawker 4000—reflects his broad experience and operational depth.

BEN KNIPPERS

With over 41 years of aviation experience, Ben Knippers brings unmatched depth and passion to his role as Chief Pilot at FlyTru. His journey began at just 16 years old, growing up near an airport in McComb, Mississippi, where the sound of aircraft overhead sparked a lifelong love of flying. By 18, he earned his private pilot’s license at Weiser Airport, eventually progressing to obtain his ATP certification. Over the decades, Ben has built an impressive résumé of type ratings, including the DC-3, Embraer 145, ATR-42, ATR-72, G-IV, G-V, and Boeing 727.

Dave Crone
DIRECTOR OF MAINTENANCE

DAVE CRONE

With over 30 years of hands-on aviation maintenance experience, Dave Crone leads FlyTru’s maintenance operations with military precision and a passion for excellence. His aviation journey began in the U.S. Army, where he served from 1995 to 2000 as a military intelligence helicopter crew chief, stationed at both Ft. Hood, TX and Ft. Campbell, KY. It was during this time that he earned his Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license, setting the stage for a career that would span both military and civilian sectors. After leaving the service, Dave brought his expertise to major aviation organizations including Bombardier in Indianapolis, JetWest in Van Nuys, NetJets, and StandardAero, before launching his own successful maintenance business. In 2022, he joined FlyTru to lead and scale its growing maintenance operation.

JULIE WELTON

With over 14 years in the aviation industry, Julie Welton brings a unique blend of customer service excellence, leadership, and inflight expertise to her role as Director of Inflight Services at FlyTru. Her path to aviation wasn’t traditional—after years as a group fitness instructor, server, bartender, and eventually a restaurant manager, a pilot recognized her natural hospitality skills and suggested she try working as a flight attendant. That suggestion sparked a career that has since evolved into a leadership role shaping the very standards of inflight experience.
